Panties Preventing Pregnancy

Hi Dr Pinhas,
I’m in your Human Sexuality class.
The other night my boyfriend and I were fooling around, and he started to rub his penis against my vagina and assure me that because I still had my underwear on that there was absolutely no risk of me getting pregnant! I got really scared and made him stop and I was wondering if there was a tiny chance of me getting pregnant even with my underwear…If there is a chance, does it have anything to do with the fabric of the underwear?

If you are wearing regular cotton panties, that are not a thong, and your boyfriend  rubs up against your mons pubis area ( your pubic bone) AKA- dry humping, and he does not ejaculate, you would not  be able to get pregnant since there is no semen being deposited in your vagina.   Relax, sperm would have to be magical to penetrate fabric.   There might be a remote, highly unlikely, possibility that pregnancy could be achieved if you were ovulating, and he ejaculated on your vaginal introitus ( the opening of the vagina) if you were wearing a thong and you then wiped the semen toward the vaginal opening in an attempt to remove it.  Now rationally speaking, what do you think the chances are   of these specific circumstances and conditions happening to you?  I don’t think so.  I can, however, hear your anxiety about any pregnancy risk. If  your beaux wants to have an extravaginal ejaculation on you , make sure he “comes” on your stomach, not by your introitus.  You’ll feel less fearful.
